suit NOUN 1) a set of outer clothes made of the same fabric and designed to be worn together, typically consisting of a jacket and trousers or a jacket and skirt. 2) a set of clothes for a particular activity. 3) any of the sets into which a pack of playing cards is divided (spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs). 4) a lawsuit. 5) informal a high-ranking business executive. 6) the process of trying to win a woman's affection with a view to marriage. 7) literary a petition or entreaty made to a person in authority.
